GUJARAT INCOME TAX DEPARTMENT MA 39% JAGYA KHAALI

Gujarat is one of the most urbanized State in India and has been one of India s most progressive states and is amongst the top 3 on several economic indicators.

It is the 4th largest contributor to the country’s direct tax revenues. The net collection recorded by the region during financial year 2016-17 is Rs. 39901/- crores, which works out to 4.8% of all India collections.
The major industrial centre in Gujarat are as follows :
1. Ahmedabad – Ahmedabad is a major city of the Gujarat Region. It is also known as Manachaster of India due to large no. of cotton textile industries.  Ahmedabad region is an industrial and educational hub of Gujarat. The major industries of the Districts of Ahmedabad are Engineering, Textiles, Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Drugs & Pharmaceuticals, pulp & paper products Automobile and Automobile ancillary and Constructions.   The jurisdiction of Ahmedabad are divided under the CCIT-1, Ahmedabad and CCIT-2, Ahmedabad. In addition, Sabarkantha and  Bhavnagar district fall under the jurisdiction of CCIT, Ahmedabad-1, Ahmedabad. However, Palanpur, Surendranagar, Gandhinagar, Mehsana, Patan are falls under the jurisdiction of CCIT, Ahmedabad-2, Ahmedabad. There are approximately   22  lakh tax payers in this Region, who contributed tax collection of Rs.10,362 crore and Rs.11,387 crore for the Financial Years 2015-16 and 2016-17 respectively.
2. Surat – The districts of Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Dang, Daman(UT) and Dadra Nagar Haveli(UT) falls under jurisdiction of the CCIT-Surat region. The major industries situated in this region are diamond, chemicals and textiles which mainly spread out in Surat, Vapi and industrial clusters in the two union territories. Surat polishes over 90 percent of the world's rough diamond. Surat region has contributed Rs. 2157.2 crore and Rs. 2,965.8 crore in Financial Year 2015-16 and 2016-17 respectively.
3. Vadodara – The districts of Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Kheda, Anand, Bharuch, Narmada, Mahisagar, Panchmahal and Dahod fall under the CCIT Region, Vadodara. Vadodara Region is an industrial, cultural and educational hub of Western India, which houses several institutions of national and regional importance while its major industries include petrochemicals, engineering, electricity, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals, plastics amongst other. There are approximately 7.57 lakh tax payers in this Region, who contributed tax collection of Rs. 3285 crore and Rs. 4233 crore for the Financial Years 2015-16 and 2016-17 respectively.
4. Rajkot – Saurashtra is a peninsular region of western India, located on the Arabian Sea Coast. It covers about a third of Gujarat State. The district namely Rajkot, Junagadh, Porbandar, Jamnagar, Kutchh, Amreli, Devnagari Dwarka, Gir, Somnath and Morbi comes under CCIT Rajkot region. Industries such as Machineries, Food products & Beverages, Silver Ornaments, Bearings, Chemicals, Forging, Ceramics, Sea Food Industries, Ship Breaking and other non-metallic mineral products from the key businesses contributing to majority of its industrial output of the region.
There are approximately 12.50 lakhs Assessees in Rajkot Region contributing to tax collection of Rs. 1083 crore and Rs. 1334 crore for the financial year 2015-16 and 2016-17 respectively.
