This is the first government health insurance scheme of its kind in India. Under this insurance scheme, the government will spend five lakh rupees annually for the treatment of every poor family. This plan is being considered as important because it is claiming about 40 per cent of the population of the country to benefit.

This scheme is completely cashless and there will be no obligation of age for insurance cover. The Center will open 1.5 lakh health centers across the country for this scheme. The Modi government has great expectations from this plan for the 2019 elections.
