After the decline in crude oil prices in the international market, the prices of petrol and diesel have also seen a decline in the country. Crude oil prices reached $ 71 a barrel on January 24 and 25, which has now fallen to $ 66 a barrel. The government has said that when crude oil prices reach $ 75 a barrel, they will cut excise duty further. From June 16, 2017, fuel prices are set by the oil companies on a daily basis. Since then oil companies have amended the oil prices from 1 paisa to 15 paisa.
