The Minister of Consumer Affairs on this occasion referred to the Conference of World Standards Day organized by the Bureau of Indian Standards. He said that the gold traded in the country would be 14, 18, and 22 carats. According to Paswan, people can not know the quality of gold jewelry they buy nowadays. Minister Paswan said that some jewelers use hallmark, but this does not clearly tell consumers the quality of jewelery. Apart from this, consumer affairs minister Paswan said that under the proposed rules, goldmine used in jewelery in the hallmark will also be recorded.
