Gujarat sarkar Declared shaixnik calendar

In a major decision that would go a long way for the betterment of the students, Gujarat government is all set to introduce a common calendar in government-run universities. The decision was taken at a meeting of vice-chancellors held recently in Gandhinagar and was chaired by Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani. As per the new decision, the common calendar will enable admission process, examination and results simultaneously in all colleges.

Speaking about the same, state education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama sai-d, “Many students in the state had to suffer a lot in terms of seeking admission to pursue higher education in India and abroad. Because of different dates of admission, examination and results, often students would miss the chance of getting admission in a college of their choice. This decision will benefit the students applying for jobs, PhD, college transfer, internship, apprenticeship and other avenues as common calendar will avail them equal opportunity.”

Presently, all colleges follow their schedule and conduct examination as per their convenience. Chudasama added, “We have also seen cases where students take admission to reserve their seat and pay fees but when they get a chance to get admisison in university of their choice, they do not get their money back. Also, due to a delayed admission process, innovation, start-up and training programme aimed for students too gets impacted.”
